This is a capture from Weather.com of the conditions here in Hanoi this afternoon. Doug and I are staying in our air conditioned rooms - it's too hot to do anything outside! We are anxiously waiting for the end of October when the cool weather starts to move in. We have done some exploring through the city, but it has mostly been too hot this summer. We have heard from a few people who have been here for a long time that this is the hottest summer they could remember......why did it have to wait for us to get here? :>)
I expect we will do a lot more exploring of our neighborhood and the city when the weather is cooler. We hope by then we will have established some relationships with students wanting to show us around their city, something that is quite typical since they want to spend time with their American teachers.
